Ross Corder (featured in Mountains II) just opened a restaurant in Toronto! If you’re in the Kensington area and in need of some amazing food, stop by Hot Beans. All vegan and all delicious. Ross’ passion for food really shows in all the menu items. Yesterday I had a side of rice and beans that tasted better the entrées I’ve had at many other places. Check out their facebook page for all the info.

In other news, I never updated to say how amazing the Mountains Collective party at the start of year was. IT WAS AMAZING. Such a great crowd out all night. Thanks for coming, you made me want to keep doing them. Also, Mountains III is in the works. Slowly but surely!

Issue two is just finishing up running through the printer, drying in front of several oscillating fans and will be ready for your hands in no time at all! Contents include artist profiles of Anthony Green (vocalist/poet), Jess Baumung (punk rock photography), Ryan MacDonald (illustration – check out the fine cover art!) & Tod Ainslie (pin hole photography). Vegan recipes from Ross Corder. A photo essay of BC’s surf scene by Brooks Reynolds. And last but certainly not least, an in-depth look into the lives of the perpetually touring by Nada Alic.

Issue 1 of Mountains is done and available! A six by nine inch, ninety six page book printed on high quality paper. Featuring an illustration profile of Jackie Musial and her fascination of animals and humans combined, a bittersweet collection of poems in a profile of the anti-poet Trevor Walroth, a road trip’s worth of images (see our links page for an idea of who may be included) in a photo essay by Brooks Reynolds taken as he traveled around North America and an interview by Andrea Dyer with Skate 4 Cancer’s founder Rob Dyer about his coast to coast treks pushing a skateboard across Canada.
